40 Below

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 22, 2026

40 Below (“the app”) by Fruit Stand Software (“we” or “our”) is designed to show you weather information for your location and help you share that information if you choose.

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app uses and how it is handled.

The short version is that we collect nothing and nothing is sent to us.

Information We Use

Location

40 Below uses your location on your device to show weather conditions where you are.

  • The app only accesses your location if you allow it.
  • Location is used to request weather data.
  • Your location is not sent to or stored by us.
  • Location is only shared with the weather data provider to retrieve forecasts.

You can turn off location access anytime in your device settings.

App Settings and Preferences

The app may store small pieces of information on your device, such as:

  • Last known temperatures
  • Last viewed location information if available (coordinates and place names)

This information stays on your device and is not shared.

Shared Images

40 Below can generate an image of weather information if you choose to share it.

  • Images are created locally on your device.
  • We do not receive or store shared images.
  • If you share an image, it is handled by the app or service you choose (Messages, Mail, social media, etc.), not by us.

Information We Collect

40 Below collects the following information about you:

  • Nothing.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

Third-Party Services

40 Below does not include any:

  • Advertising networks
  • Third-party tracking
  • Data brokers
  • Social media SDKs

If this changes, this policy will be updated.

Children's Privacy

40 Below does not collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal data, it is suitable for general audiences.

Data Storage and Security

All app data (settings and preferences) is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store user data.

Your Choices

You can control privacy at any time:

  • Turn off location access in device settings
  • Delete the app to remove all stored preferences

Deleting the app removes all local data.

Changes to This Policy

If the app's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
